Shipping Policy (From April 15th to approx. September 30th)

It is not practical to ship chocolate during the summer months via UPS Brown Label.   We actually suspend shipping of any liquid filled chocolates, such as Asbach and Verpoorten from April 15th to approx. September 30th every year.

Most Florida locations are delivered by UPS Brown Label Service within one day of shipping.  This means, if we have UPS Pickup in the afternoon, you will have your delivery the next day after 2:00 PM in the afternoon.  Remember, UPS may deliver

We will continue to ship other chocolates, but only if adequate protection such as 'Gel/Ice' packs are added to your shipment. If you order our Truffettes de France, you must protect the truffles with a polystyrene freezer box.

Even though we make every effort to pack the chocolate carefully, we urge you to add our Gel our Ice Packs to your shipment.  There is a time limit to keeping your chocolate cool even with an ice or gel pack.  A Gel/Ice pack will generally last only 10 - 15 hours. 

Our polystyrene foam containers which we are showing below, will provide the necessary protection.  The expense of these boxes is well worth it when you consider the alternative of having two tins or boxes of Truffettes de France melt on you.

How hot is it?

It is not our aim to burden your shipment with unnecessary expenses, but it is imperative that we protect 'heat sensitive' or 'perishable' food products.  An ice pack will last only about 10-15 hours and will give you limited protection. 

For smaller quantities of chocolates, we recommend at the minimum an Gel/Ice Pack.  These ice packs would be used in conjunction with our standard boxes in which we normally ship our food products. The following choices are available. 

If your order includes 'heat sensitive' food products and your shipping destination cannot be reached within one day transit time, we recommend that you ship your selection via UPS Blue Label.  Only 'Red Label' shipments will be delivered by 10:00 AM (approximately) in the morning.  Both Blue and Brown Label service will only be delivered after 2:00 PM.  Check with UPS directly if you require more information.

Both UPS Blue Label (2nd Day Air) and UPS Red Label (Next Day Air) are 'Dimensional Rate Services'.  This means that the actual shipping expense is not only determined by the weight and the UPS Zone, but also the actual dimensions of the shipping container, (Length x height x width) of the box.  We cannot estimate such charges and your credit card must be on file for us to process your shipment.

Please consider our foam boxes for additional protection.  These boxes are constructed of industrial strength, leak proof expanded polystyrene foam.  These boxes are appropriate for any product that must be kept cold for extended periods of time or for products that must be kept frozen.  All coolers come complete with a base and lid and the walls are 1-1/2" thick. 

•   All foam containers are reusable, recyclable, and contain no CFC's

•   The boxes can ship with gel packs or dry ice. 

•   It is recommended that you use at least 2 gel packs.  We place one gel pack at   the bottom of the product and one gel pack on top.
